Location and Price

I offer counselling both online and in-person. The in-person sessions are in Bethnal Green, East London.

Virtual Therapy vs In-Person

During the pandemic we all had to move online. I was reluctant to do so at first, since I didn’t believe it could work for counselling. However, after further training specifically on remote therapy, I’ve found that it can work well – and for some people it can actually work better, since you can have the sessions in the safety of your own home and you don’t have to travel.

So the choice is up to you. If you like, we can mix it up and have some Zoom and some in-person sessions. Sometimes I may suggest having at least one in-person session, if I think that would help.

If you need help to use Zoom, let me know and we can sort it out together.

If you would prefer sessions in real life, my counselling room is 5 minutes from Bethnal Green Tube Station, next door to York Hall and there’s a cafe in the basement of the building. I will send you details about how to find the building and where it’s best to wait for your counselling session. At the time of our appointment, I’ll come down from my counselling room to welcome you.

The address for in-person sessions is:

St Margaret’s House
21 Old Ford Road
Bethnal Green
London E2 9PL

Price for counselling

The price for a counselling session is £75.

Some notes on timing and price:

  • It’s good to have consistency about the time and day you come for counselling as this contributes to the effectiveness of therapy. However, with busy work schedules this isn’t always realistic or possible, so I will always try to be as flexible as possible.
  • If you need to cancel a session, please give me at least 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled without 48 hours’ notice will be charged for.
  • When thinking about the price, it’s good to remember that a few sessions may be all you need, though the majority of people come for a few months – and at the other end of the spectrum I see many clients  for longer-term psychotherapy.
  • We can agree on an initial number of sessions, if we both feel that is appropriate for you, at our first meeting. And of course this initial contract is flexible and can be adapted to your needs and changing circumstances.
  • At the moment I work weekday daytimes and evenings, but not at weekends.
